Call for Papers

Paper Abstracts Submission Information
Interested parties are invited to submit a paper abstract to be received not later than
31st May 2011.

Proposal Content
Proposals should seek to promote a deeper understanding of the conference theme and can include perspectives on:

  • Medical and psychological
  • Educational and training
  • Social inclusion
  • Employment and making a livelihood
  • Policy making
  • Self advocacy

All papers will need to demonstrate some of the key themes which seek to demonstrate achievements and inclusion of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in everyday life. Papers might also expose new problems to achieving a better quality of life while illustrating problem solving approaches that are showing promise. The conference is keen to receive papers from people who remain undefeated in the increasing emphasis given to administrative and bureaucratic functions that increasingly burden service providers and recipients.

Peer review is available for those presenters requiring academic recognition for their paper(s).

Proposal Format
Proposals submitted should:

  • Not exceed 350 words.
  • Emphasize two or three key points that you wish to address.
  • Ensure that there is an explicit link to the conference theme.

Selection of Presentations
A committee will review all proposals submitted by the due date. Proposals will be selected by:

  • Relevance to the conference theme.
  • Clarity of abstract.
  • Ability to address the breadth and scope of the conference audience.

Full consideration will be given to all abstracts. However, not all abstracts will be able to be accommodated. Everyone who submits a proposal will be notified of the status of the proposal by 14th June 2011.

Presenters’ Costs
All conference presenters are required to register for the conference and to cover their own costs, including registration, travel and accommodation.
